In the Bois-Salair forest, just outside the village of Fontaine-Daniel, lies the Orthodox Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God.

The Sisters of the community, who have been based at the Bois Salair monastery since 2014, invite you to discover their activities within the monastery. Discover the cultural heritage and traditional knowledge associated with medicinal plants, the traditional manufacture of candles and the chapel, which is entirely frescoed in the Byzantine tradition. The visit includes - Candle-making workshop - Discovery of the chapel - Visit to the medicinal plant garden (weather permitting) PRACTICAL INFORMATION : - Dates: 2 May - 13 June - 18 July - 1 August - 22 August - Duration: 1 hour - Schedule: 11 a.m. - Price: €6 - Reduced : 4.50 (students) - Free for under-12s Bookings must be made with the Mayenne Co.
