Meet up at the Vigie at 2pm, and discover the lives of some remarkable women from Mayenne through a unique tour!
To mark International Women's Rights Day on 8 March, La Vigie - Mémorial des Déportés de la Mayenne and the Pays d'art et d'histoire Coëvrons-Mayenne (Coëvrons-Mayenne art and history centre) are joining forces to offer a guided tour in several languages. As you wander through the streets of the town of Mayenne, the lives of a number of women will be highlighted. Resistance fighters, benefactors, nuns and builders, these often little-known women have left their mark on the town's history through their commitment, their courage and their actions. This tour is an invitation to discover Mayenne in a different way, and to question the place of women in the public space and collective memory.
