Anima Compagnie
Theatre
Thursday 20 November 2025 - 8.30pm
Théâtre des Ursulines
Lucie Raimbault uses the cathartic power of theatre to tackle eating disorders and highlights how societal injunctions, in the age of social networks, weigh heavily on the bodies of teenage girls.
Lou, a bubbly 15-year-old who enjoys life as much as a piece of cake, sees her life turned upside down by remarks about her physique and overflowing appetite. She begins to watch her weight and her appearance, tracking down every last kilo. Then, giving in to bouts of uncontrolled bulimia, she ended up making herself vomit. Lou secretly suffers from an eating disorder, but the noose tightens ever tighter until the unbearable revelation of her illness.
After Les Ecoeurchées (presented at Le Carré in 2021), Anima Compagnie is continuing to explore contemporary social issues, particularly those closely related to adolescence, in order to free speech on sensitive and taboo subjects.
Show as part of the parenting fortnight organised by the Le PEPS social centre in the Château-Gontier area: "Taking care of our children and ourselves".
