theatre | puppets and objects - Compagnie Les Maladroits
In an age of fake news and large-scale manipulation, a group of "truth-seekers" use the ingenuity of object theatre to re-enact a truer-than-life version of man's first steps on the moon.
At a time when the conquest of space is once again a major geopolitical issue, the veracity of the images of 21 July 1969 is regularly called into question. Using salvaged objects and a lot of imagination, our four researchers re-enact the Apollo 11 mission, determined to prove that it was all an illusion. Les Maladroits develop an inventive and jubilant filmed theatre of objects with special effects cobbled together on sight. Combining archive footage and misappropriated objects, they take us on a spatial exploration of our conspiracy wanderings, an expedition into the meanders of the most far-fetched theories.
Subjectif Lune is a mischievous exploration of how the fabrication of images interferes with our daily lives, shaking up our desire to believe ever more.
