Veillées du Bois Dormant, a participatory tale in which the land becomes the main character in our stories. Our theme will be the return of the wolf to the forest of Mayenne. Grrrr.
In spring 2024, we announced an artistic collaboration with École Parallèle Imaginaire.
Léa, Guillaume and Simon, an artist from the company, came to explore our river, meet the locals and discover the local legends.
They walked the Marches de Bretagne footpath, skimmed the Mayenne forest, studied IGN maps and unearthed tales of virgins, saints, feared lords, fairies, witches, werewolves and a stuffed lion.
Enriched by these discoveries, they are returning to create a new project with the local people.
From November 2024 to the summer of 2026, we'll be organising the Veillées du Bois Dormant (Sleeping Wood Nights), a participatory tale in which the region becomes the main character in our stories.
The next vigil will be held on 22 November 2025, and you are warmly invited to attend. Our theme will be the return of the wolf to the Mayenne forest. Grrrr. We're also planning a giant seed hunt, in search of the oldest tree in the area. We'll have a sing-along and a nice little meal. Don't hesitate to contact us to find out more about this project and/or to sign up for this sleeping wood vigil!
