Charming village house in Chéméré-le-Roi, a historic village 20 minutes from Sablé sur Sarthe

For a simple stay in the heart of the historic village of Chéméré-le-Roi. Not far away, the 15th-century Maison au Porche. You're at the gateway to the Sarthe and Sablé-sur-Sarthe (20 min.). Chéméré-le-Roi is a typical village, which has kept its marbled stone houses, with ochre renderings, and its narrow, winding streets... With the Fraternité Saint Vincent Ferrier, Chéméré-le-Roi is a place for spiritual retreats. The village has two churches: one historic, probably dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, and a second inaugurated in 2018. Just 5km away, in the Coëvrons region, you can visit the prehistoric caves of Saulges, with its fun-filled museum retracing the occupation of humans and animals in prehistoric times, and its varied footpaths offering exceptional views. A calm and relaxing natural setting. Also, at the end of the valley, the restaurant La Taverne des Grottes (Saulges), a bucolic address even for a snack! For shops and activities, Saint-Denis-du-Maine and Meslay-du-Maine are less than 10 minutes away. In Chémeré: baguette vending machine in the town hall square. The gîte is a village house with pink roughcast, the colour of our welcome! Ground floor: spacious living room, sitting room, shower room with WC and utility room with washing machine. Upstairs: a bedroom with 1 double bed (160cm) and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds (90cm). The bedrooms are bright and airy with skylight windows.
