EXHIBITON
From sculpture to design, from the intimate to the political, Romain Weintzem shapes, twists and plays with difficult subjects. He uses irony as a weapon of resistance in the face of darkness.
Between attraction and repulsion, comedy and tragedy, ambivalence is at the heart of Romain Weintzem's creative process. His love of words drives him to play almost obsessively with the titles of his works. Their evocative power never leaves the public in any doubt about the artist's intentions. Through his works, which are sometimes light-hearted and sometimes very dark, Romain Weintzem offers us his critical view of our troubled and darkened times. At once sensitive and acerbic, the artist's work leads us to reconsider reality from a new angle, enabling us to confront the harshness of the world without blinkers, with humour and resolution. His creative vitality is infectious, transforming his revolt into a protean and striking body of work.
Born in 1987, Romain Weintzem lives and works in Fontevraud l'Abbaye.
