No-kill trout fishing course at Saint-Calais-du-Désert (north-east Mayenne)
An exceptional 3600m long no-kill trout stream on the river Le Teilleul (or Tilleul). Up to 4m wide, the Teilleul meanders between plant cover and fields, with an average depth of between 30cm and 1m. The riverbed is particularly rich in boulders, stones and sand. The course ends at the Bois de Triage upstream and the Pont du Maine downstream.
Only lure, fly and minnow fishing is permitted. Fario trout must be released carefully, regardless of their size. Barbless hooks are compulsory or, failing that, with the barbs completely crushed.
All anglers must hold a valid fishing licence and fill in the catch form after each fishing trip, even if they come up empty.
