In the Bois-Salair forest, just outside the village of Fontaine-Daniel, lies the Orthodox Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God.

The Sisters of the community, who have been based at the Bois Salair monastery since 2014, invite you to take a guided tour of the medicinal and aromatic plant garden, where you can learn to recognise common plants and discover their traditional uses. PRACTICAL INFORMATION : - Dates: 23 May - 6 June - 25 July - 5 Sept - Duration: 1 hour - Schedule: 10.30 am - Price: €6 - Reduced : 4.50 (students) - Free for under-12s Bookings must be made with the Mayenne Co. Tourist Office. Remember to dress appropriately: shoulders and legs covered.
