Overture and Scherzo from A Midsummer Night's Dream
A masterpiece of violin literature and a marvel of inspiration, first performed in Leipzig in 1845, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto marks the advent of the Romantic concerto, soon to be exemplified with panache by Brahms and Tchaikovsky.
Luka Faulisi is an Italian-Serbian-French violinist hailed as one of the most promising of his generation. His debut album, Aria, will be released in spring 2023. It explores transcriptions of opera arias, revealing an approach that is both virtuosic and lyrical. In 2024, he released his second album, Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, recorded with the baroque ensemble Orkiestra Historyczna (oh!), a performance acclaimed for its freshness and musical sense.
Since then, Luka Faulisi has given concert after concert with prestigious orchestras in Europe and beyond (United Kingdom, France, Italy, Serbia, Scandinavia), and is steadily gaining notoriety on the international scene.
Yuram Ruiz is a conductor and cellist renowned for his passion, dynamism and commitment to musical excellence. A native of Venezuela who trained with such distinguished masters as Gustavo Dudamel, Claudio Abbado and Daniel Barenboim, he has established himself as a leading figure in Switzerland and on the international stage.
At the helm of several prestigious orchestras and guest conductor at renowned festivals across Europe, his art combines technical precision with emotional depth. As an artistic director, educator and performer, Yuram Ruiz continues to inspire musicians and audiences alike, leaving a lasting mark through his energy and musical vision.
