From Beethoven's highly popular Spring Sonata to Saint-Saëns's spectacular Danse macabre, the brilliant duo of violinist Geneviève Laurenceau and pianist François Chaplin perform an anthology of some of the most seductive works in the repertoire.
Geneviève Laurenceau is a French violinist who trained with great masters such as Wolfgang Marschner, Zakhar Bron and Jean-Jacques Kantorow. As a soloist and chamber musician, she performs repertoire ranging from early music to contemporary music. From 2007 to 2017, she was supersoloist concertmaster of the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse before devoting herself fully to her solo career. She also teaches violin and is artistic director of the Obernai Music Festival.
François Chaplin is a French pianist renowned for the finesse and poetry of his playing. His career took off in 1989 when he won the Mozart and Robert Casadesus prizes at the prestigious Cleveland International Competition. Since then, he has been invited as soloist by numerous orchestras in France and abroad, and has played in world-famous concert halls and festivals.
François Chaplin is particularly acclaimed for his recordings of Debussy and his interpretations of Chopin.
