Dana Ciocarlie's two passions are brought together in this charming programme: Schumanian poetry on the one hand, with the tender Children's Scenes, delicately introduced by The Prophet Bird from Scenes from the Forest, and the popular verve of Romanian folk music on the other, of which the pianist is the ideal interpreter and ambassador.
Dana Ciocarlie is a renowned Franco-Romanian pianist, trained in Bucharest and then in Paris. The winner of numerous international competitions, she enjoys a career as a soloist and chamber musician, championing both the classical repertoire and contemporary works. She teaches at the CNSMD in Lyon and at the École Normale de Musique in Paris, and is best known for her acclaimed complete works for piano by Schumann.
