The Second World War is a well-known period in the 20th century. However, certain aspects are unknown to the general public. The presence of a German military tribunal in Laval, which tried more than 200 people for deporting around forty individuals, is rarely mentioned.
The speaker, Néo Goussé, who has a Master's degree in history, will present his analyses of the 149 cases: what types of offences were tried, what sentences were handed down, what was the social profile of those convicted? The trajectories of the convicts, their incarceration and judicial deportations to Germany or between German prisons will also be discussed.
Admission is free, subject to availability.
The last exceptional opening of the exhibition "Les femmes vont voter, oct. 1944-oct. 1945" will take place on Saturday 25 April from 2pm to 5pm in the presence of a mediator.
