Starting out from Pré-en-Pail-Saint-Samson, in the heart of the regional nature reserve, Mont des Avaloirs, the highest peak in western France at 416 metres, awaits you. This 100-kilometre GR® de Pays trail will take you through the Mont des Avaloirs countryside in 3, 4 or 5 days. Pretty paths criss-cross the bocage and lead you to the most emblematic places, the little village of Ste-Anne, Trotté and its old forges, Saint-Cénéri-le-Gérei and Saint-Léonard-des-Bois, authentic villages of the Alpes Mancelles, the old slate quarries of Chattemoue and, last but not least, the old mills in the valley of Saint-Calais-du-Désert.
