Made up of five musicians from Rennes and Nantes, Lazy Buddies was born in 2005 out of a shared passion for the blues and black American music of the 1950s. Their first 10-track album, "Swing it, Swing it babe!", was released in 2008, helping the group to make a name for itself with the public and the Blues scene in France.
The album "This Little Girl's Gone Rockin'" was released in 2011. It has been hailed by blues and rock'n'roll magazines and websites. The album is half covers and half compositions, and has helped the band gain national recognition, with wins at the Blues sur Seine and Cahors springboards, appearances at the major festivals of Cognac Blues Passion, Blues sur Seine and Europa Jazz, and support slots for 'Little' Charlie Baty, Mark Hummel, Lynwood Slim and Sugar Ray Rayford.
In 2012, Lazy Buddies recorded a live album in Rennes, Play It Loud! The album, which captures the festive atmosphere of the concerts, has received rave reviews in the press. In 2013, the band joined Canadian label Iguane Records for the international digital distribution of their last two albums. In 2018, after some 400 concerts, the band released a 13-track album entirely composed by themselves: "All in", which offers a compendium of the styles they love: Blues, Swing, Rhythm and blues, 50's Rock'n'roll, Jump Blues, West Coast Blues, ... all with their "lazy touch". Since then, the group has played a string of concerts and festivals, focusing on the sounds and repertoire of the Chicago Blues of the 1950s and 1960s.
The concerts in Meslay-du-Maine will take place at the Salle Socioculturelle,
Opening acts will be jazz workshops from local music schools,
A record fair will be held on Thursday 14 May from 2pm to 6pm in the grounds of Meslay-du-Maine town hall,
All our concerts are free for our audiences aged 0 to 16 (please bring proof of age),
Our audiences aged 16 to 26 have a reduced rate of €13 for each paying concert (Tuesday 27/05, Friday 30/05 and Saturday 31/05 - bring proof of age),
PASS 3 concerts for Saturday 09/05, Tuesday 12/05 and Saturday 16/05: €52 - entitles the holder to a special rate for cinema screenings.
