Florent Cordier - sculpture and painting
Florent Cordier, a visual artist from Normandy, revisits statuary by exploring the dialogue between matter, light and space. His sculptures, made from metal, rattan and plant fibres, evoke fragmented silhouettes that are both massive and light. Light intrudes into the interstices, redrawing the shapes as the hours pass. Somewhere between primitive art and contemporary modelling, her work questions emptiness, movement and presence, inviting the eye to wander between abstraction and figuration.
