Conférence "Archives sensibles : la légalisation de l'avortement en France" par Marine Gilis, historienne

  • Lecture
6 Place des Archives, 53000 Laval
This conference offers an immersion into the work of collecting testimonies, a viewing of extracts from life stories about the issues surrounding the legalisation of abortion in western France and a presentation of some of the documents discovered in the Mayenne Departmental Archives.
By combining the intimate with the historical, it sheds light on the experiences of life and activism, and situates individual paths within the social and political history of women's rights.

Admission is free, subject to availability.

This event is organised as part of the exhibition "Les femmes vont voter, octobre 1944 - octobre 1945" (Women go to the polls, October 1944 - October 1945) produced by the Institut d'Histoire du Temps Présent (IHTP) and on show at the Archives départementales de la Mayenne in Laval from 19 January to 25 April.
