Route from the FFV les Perles mountain bike base in Averton
Welcome to Averton. Situated between the Alpes Mancelles and the Normandie Maine Regional Nature Park, not far from Mont des Avaloirs, the highest point in Western France (417 m), the FFV mountain bike base on the Les Perles site welcomes you to enjoy your favourite pastime with 8 loops covering more than 200 kilometres of marked and maintained trails. Route 6, "Tour de la Forêt de Pail", is part of the itinerary of the "Pays de Pail aux Alpes Mancelles" tour organised every year in May by the Villaines-la-Juhel VTTSI club. There are several possible variants, minus 4 km by going straight on after "La Croix" as far as the Signal de Pail and then to the right, or minus 8 km by passing through "La Pyramide". The route follows the Merdereau valley and offers magnificent panoramic views, including the ridge of wind turbines in Crennes-sur-Fraubée and a beautiful view of the Andaines forest. Significant gradient with technical sections.
