Julie was born in Mayenne. The granddaughter of farmers, she has fond memories of a few holidays spent on the farm, between two worlds: the one before, deeply linked to the land, and the one she is heading towards, with her studies at business school and her experiences abroad. It's when she takes a step back that she realises what has been lost in a generation. "I could only recognise one or two flowers around me... I'd lost the link with all that. This observation resonated deeply. So she decided to rebuild it.
This return to the land, far from being planned, gradually became an intimate necessity. With it came the desire to pass on knowledge, to create links and to rediscover a form of balance between people, the economy and the environment. "For me, these three dimensions are not mutually exclusive. It's a meeting point, a point of synergy.
The land she has known since childhood became the foundation of her project: a local, artisanal activity, nourished by the rhythm of the seasons. "It's about joy, common sense... Taking part in the life of a region, seeing the flowers fill us with wonder, knowing where things come from".
Her collaboration with Éric Thielin, an organic flower grower in Astillé, was a major turning point in her career. For several years, Julie sold her bouquets at markets in Laval and Le Mans. When she came into contact with this living material, she discovered a new way of expressing herself - intuitive, symbolic, plant-based. It was here that Benedicta was born.
LEADING HER LIFE TO THE RHYTHM OF LIVING THINGS
Today, under the name of Benedicta, Julie offers sensitive floral creations, designed with an intimate connection to people, places and intentions.
She has no fixed studio: she travels the length and breadth of Mayenne in her "super car", creating wherever it makes sense - in a family garden, a place of remembrance, or even in unexpected spaces. Each composition becomes a symbolic gesture, a carefully-picked fragment of life. Julie never designs two identical creations. "I don't know in advance what I'm going to do. I start with the person, their intentions, the season, the place... and I work with all that. She lets herself be guided by what emerges, as in life.
"MOBILE WORKSHOPS AND WALKS THAT TELL A STORY".
As well as her flower arrangements, Julie offers mobile workshops: times for shared creation, in groups, in places chosen for their meaning, their atmosphere, their connection with people. These workshops are a way of reconnecting with nature, learning to look differently at what's growing around us... and leaving with a bouquet, of course, but above all with a memory.
She also offers sensory walks, where you're not there to pick but to feel. Walk, observe, touch, smell... It's an invitation to be present to the landscape, to yourself, to the moment...
Her favourite place in Mayenne :
"Mayenne is full of beautiful places that surprise you: a riverside spot, a path, a forest, a hill. The most important thing is to let yourself be surprised.
